Copycat is all about the story and the message it wants to convey. From assumptions you make yourself, to families that would rather see you go than come. And from other cats that are only too happy to take your place and mingle in your 'home'. These life lessons are the highlight of the game, and quickly make you forget the mediocre gameplay , the far from impressive graphics and the slight camera bugs. This is not a high-quality game, but it plays well and gives you a calming feeling, and even brings some emotion here and there. Copycat has been out for the PC for some time now and is now finally playable on the console, and honestly, it is definitely worth it for every cat lover, or anyone considering getting a cat. It makes you realize what responsibilities this entails, and that an animal can also struggle with its emotions.

F1 25 may not feel groundbreaking, but if you've been away for a year like me, the changes feel pretty substantial. This year, it's just a few small details that have been added, but Braking Point in particular is a welcome addition and should actually be added every year. This mode provides more tension and just that little bit of extra pressure that you often don't feel in a career mode. The career mode, on the other hand, feels more bare with the disappearance of the side events that you could play in previous versions and that provided a bit more variety. It was the promo outings, let's say, that allowed you to do something a little different than driving Formula 1, but the interviews have also been removed, for example, which means that the focus is mainly on achieving objectives. Furthermore, the inverted tracks and the connections with the film are minor additions that have their charm, but are otherwise not very groundbreaking. F1 25 has its flaws here and there in terms of experience, especially in the Braking Point mode which feels a bit like an over-the-top drama, but those minor flaws could not stop me from having so much fun and the many, many hours you can put into this game with the amount of content that has grown tremendously over the years. Add to that the rock-solid gameplay, and you have another great sequel in your hands.

Spirit of the North 2 is a step forward in many ways. It looks beautiful, the gameplay is more extensive and the puzzles are a lot more interesting. You can even personalize your fox. But where the first part was sometimes too limited, part two goes a bit too far in the other direction. The open world offers freedom, but without a clear structure it quickly becomes confusing and frustrating. It is a game that tries to enchant you with the beautiful images, but it forgets that the gameplay must also be in good shape. These are not problems that cannot be solved and I hope the creators take the time to fix this with a patch. But at the moment you are better off picking up the first part if you really want to run around as a fox.

The Precinct comes at just the right time and combines nostalgia and modern gameplay in a wonderful way. The atmosphere and the city breathe eighties and make you feel like you are in an action movie from that era. It feels refreshing to be on the right side for once, and you actually have to follow the rules. This is a game that you have to give yourself some time, but when the random chaos breaks loose, everything comes to life. I can't wait for the sequel, hopefully bigger and more ambitious in design. The wait for GTA 6 will be a lot more pleasant this way.

The game teaches you more about James Ensor in a playful way, and perhaps even more importantly: it invites you to really look. At art, at details, at the stories behind the work. Please, Touch the Artwork 2 was made with great care and love by solo developer Thomas Waterzooi and knows how to combine art and play in an accessible way. It is creative, relaxing and above all original. It is therefore a pity that you get through it quickly, and the price tag is on the high side. But if you have any interest in old artists, it is good to support this game, hopefully we will get a nice compilation with all the Belgian masters.

DOOM: The Dark Ages is perhaps the toughest DOOM title to date. The new weapons, especially the Shield Saw, are great. The story and the Slayer mythology are told in a cool way. The combination of brutal combat, immersive atmosphere and impressive level design make this one of the best single-player shooters of the year. Where other games stick to safe formulas, this game dares to do something really new, without losing that raw, tough DOOM feeling.

KIBORG is a fun game in terms of concept and especially the ever-new approach to a run, where you try to get as far as possible, is interesting. The upgrade tree that brings permanent upgrades and the implants that you can replace each session means that there is a little bit of tactics involved. The gameplay of the fights, however, quickly becomes boring and too much of the same. You are actually constantly button-bashing, with here and there perhaps some defending and rolling to avoid attacks and armor from opponents. In terms of content, this roguelike does not have that much content due to the repetition that quickly occurs. Considering the reasonable price of the game, KIBORG is certainly worth it for people who find the concept interesting. However, if you expect a high-quality game with addictive gameplay and a lot of variety, then you better skip this game.

For players who enjoyed the original, the Remaster is an ideal opportunity to come “home” again. For new players it can be a bit of a shock with all the outdated systems that test your patience and the rather empty world and cities. But those who can see through that and persevere will still have a wonderful adventure ahead of them. And with all the DLCs an adventure that can last hundreds of hours before you see the end credits roll across the screen.

Steel Seed is a game full of missed opportunities. The solid stealth elements and occasionally impressive visual moments show potential, but that is overshadowed by a weak story, flat characters, and repetitive gameplay. The skill system offers short-lived entertainment, but can't hide the fact that Steel Seed ultimately remains stuck in mediocrity. For fans hungry for a new stealth adventure, Steel Seed may be worth picking up, as long as they temper their expectations. But for many, this game will disappear into a pile, never to be touched again.

Days Gone Remastered is finally a remaster of a game that many players probably missed. Technical improvements, clever DualSense support and new modes breathe new life into this underrated classic, even though some rough edges remain visible here and there. Fortunately, these drawbacks are more than compensated for by the intense atmosphere, memorable moments and the cool mix of survival, exploration and bike maintenance. Days Gone Remastered is still not perfect, but it does give me more hope for a sequel. After all, as a player you are still left with a number of unanswered questions.

Sunderfolk knows exactly what it wants to be: an accessible RPG experience that you share with friends. The controls on your phone are smart, the combat is tactical, and the world feels alive and full of choices. There’s no hassle of setting up a board or finding a dungeon master. The game is chock full of content, and for groups of friends who’ve always wanted to try a tabletop RPG but haven’t had the time or inclination to delve into the rules, Sunderfolk is a godsend. It may not be revolutionary in terms of visuals or mechanics, but it carves out a new niche. This should be the perfect introduction to both analogue and digital RPGs. But it still falls a bit short. The game is on the slow side and lacks some streamlining. The phones feel like a cool gimmick. The less than stellar visuals can be partly ignored, but the game simply doesn’t offer enough truly cool moments, whether as a video game or a board game.

Despite this, Commandos Origins has managed to bring the series back completely. The game is not for everyone. It requires patience, precision and perseverance. But those who like that will get a game that will make you think and puzzle over every mission. Origins is not innovative, but it is not meant to be. It is a tribute to the original Commandos games and succeeds more than adequately in that.

Soulslinger: Envoy of Death is a fresh mix of genres that come together surprisingly well. Everything works. The weapons are fun to play with, the progression system is logical and the interface is clear. You can tell that the creators worked on this game with a lot of passion. The western-fantasy mix is fresh, and the nice conversations between Death and our gunslinger make you go through large amounts of arenas with pleasure. Despite the limited weapon selection and the fact that the game does not offer much choice everywhere, it all feels cool. Soulslinger is stylish, challenging and bloody entertaining.

Finding Frankie is a bit of a game with a manual; it has to suit you, or not at all. Players who can't handle insane terror will probably put this title aside after five minutes, while people who love this genre will be completely sucked into the game. The gameplay is certainly not perfect and the controls on the console are not 'your thing' either, just like the quality of the graphics. Still, Finding Frankie has something 'special' that attracted me. Whether this is the game for you, you will have to decide for yourself, but at least you have been warned both positively and negatively.

Despite the controls, there is nothing to criticize about this port. The fact that the game itself is full of illogical puzzles is a given. That is why this is such a curious port. 'I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream' will be great for horror fans, but as a game it is difficult to recommend. If you are interested in the story, read the original. It is widely available. Then play the game, if you want to see more of this world. If you then constantly get stuck on the puzzles, use a walkthrough, because the story is ultimately worth it.

Star Overdrive comes as a complete surprise and perfectly fills the gap after Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. The world is cool, huge and full of surprises. Both your keytar and hoverboard are cool additions that really come into their own. The game looks like Breath of the Wild and squeezes beautiful images from the Switch. Unfortunately, it is not a perfect game, the crafting is unclear and clumsily worked out. But hopefully that will become clearer with more playing time, because I just keep playing. After more than ten hours I am far from done!

Leila is a title that does things a little differently and definitely impresses with its great main soundtrack (there are many soundtracks available) and almost sublime hand-drawn illustrations. The voice acting of the female main character is not overwhelming but is certainly passable. The puzzles are also mostly of a good level, where you don't have to think too much, but where your brain can certainly be put to the test. It is not made too difficult, so that you often make progress after a few minutes. However, the controls quickly cause a tiring left hand due to the constant dragging through the screen and the interaction with objects. If they had been able to improve and limit that in some way, this could have been a gem. However, Leila is definitely worth playing and is perhaps 'the game' that will be overlooked by many too quickly.

The pixel art style of the game fits well with platformers and this game proves that again. It looks fine in itself, although the game never really makes a big impression. Many textures are reused and every now and then the setting of the level changes a bit, but that's it. In terms of audio, the soundtrack is reasonably present, but it doesn't irritate, although it is quite bombastic. Shadow of the Orient is therefore a fine game that plays well, but doesn't do much special. If you really blast through it, you'll be done within an hour or two, and the game isn't really replayable after that. Furthermore, the gameplay doesn't really expand as you play the game, so you're basically constantly presented with the same platform action. For those who like a challenge, I can recommend this game. However, if you're looking for a unique platformer with depth, you might want to skip this one, although the pain in your wallet will be quite limited.

The fighting system in Bleach: Rebirth of Souls is surprisingly good. The gameplay is deep and challenging, and even if you’re unfamiliar with the characters, the effects and animations make for impressive moments. However, the story mode is a big part of the game, and the lackluster presentation detracts from the experience. The cutscenes are too long, the fights too short, and the overall presentation is disappointing. For fans who come purely for the fights, this is one of the better arena fighters. But if you’re looking for an immersive story experience that does Bleach justice, this is probably best skipped.

The minigames are funny in the beginning, especially jumping the stream, shooting the ball to the hole and the ball bouncing, but no minigame really stands out. The adventure mode is simply too limited in terms of features and the free mode is in fact exactly the same, but then a bit more static in terms of choice for the minigame and levels. In addition, the game offers too little choice. This makes Care Bears: Unlock the Magic a slight disappointment, but perhaps a nice choice for kids around eight years old, who do not feel too old for these care bears. Then you will have to wait a while until the game is in the budget bins given the still quite high price.
