Critic Reviews for Sea of Stars: Throes of the Watchmaker
The highlight of the DLC is how it tries to give more personality to the protagonists, Zale and Valere. While it succeeds in doing so in isolation, it still feels like sugarcoating an unfixable problem. If you miss Sea of Stars, try Throes of the Watchmaker. Otherwise, it might not be worth your time
Sea of Stars: Throes of the Watchmaker is an attempt to make the stars of the base game actual characters, and while it fails at that the effort is appreciated. Still, the game itself is a ton of fun, with great combat, gorgeous visuals, fantastic music, and fun puzzles.
Sea of Stars proves to still be an amazing purchase with constant updates, and it now gets an update of a DLC post-game adventure.
Sea of Stars: Throes of the Watchmaker is a must-play for fans of the base game. Sea of Stars is a must play for fans of the genre.
Throes of the Watchmaker is a solid piece of DLC for Sea of Stars. If you enjoyed the main game, you will enjoy this too! If the original wasn't your bottle of seltzer, maybe pass on it.
Since everything in the DLC is completely separate from the base game and is taken away from you the second you step out of the DLC region, it feels superfluous. That being said, it’s a very unique concept of storytelling and deserves the time if you enjoyed the base game.
Sea of Stars: Throes of the Watchmaker is an excellent DLC because it brings back the charm and all the fun aspects of the base game, but it adds new mechanics and content that makes it an extraordinary and concise journey. It simplifies some elements, but it's not that bad.

Sea of Stars: Throes of the Watchmaker DLC is so well done and needs to be played. Besides the fact that it's free, I didn't want it to end!
